Beauty Refresher: Holly Mackle

I’ve been a Holly Mackle fan since before she was “famous.” In addition to her writing, generosity, mutual love of books, and keen sense of humor, she has the rare gift of giving you her full attention. Oh, I forgot. Her laugh! It’s the best. I asked her what good gift she wants to give to the world.

“I want to give the world joy. If we walk with Jesus we know that ultimate joy is only found in him, but in the craziness of daily life I find it’s something I quickly forget. Laughing with a friend, zooming out to see the utter silliness of the everyday, and sharing stories with one another all help me to remember and rejoice in the source of my joy—so that’s what I hope to extend to others. Lately, that’s taken the form of a podcast called Unseriously where I connect with people I admire and laugh together over the ridiculousness of life.”

Holly Mackle hosts the Unseriously podcast, which asks quirky questions of notable normals. She is the co-author of The Gospel Waltz alongside Bob Flayhart, author of Bright Star, The Story of Esther, and curator of the mom humor collaboration Same Here, Sisterfriend, Mostly True Tales of Misadventures in Motherhood.
